Who can rent on a mobility lease in Marseille?
The mobility lease (bail mobilité) is a furnished lease of 1 to 10 months under French law, reserved for specific situations. Check yours in a few seconds.

- Apprenticeship contract
- The contract is in force on the date you move in.
- Civic service (service civique)
- Civic service commitment contract
- The contract states the length of the commitment.

Frequently asked questions
I work remotely: can I rent on a mobility lease?
Only if you are in Marseille for a temporary assignment or a transfer, certified by your employer. Working remotely is not in itself a valid reason.
My employer pays the rent: is that possible?
Yes. The lease is in the employee’s name, and the employee provides the supporting document. The employer can pay the rent by bank transfer.
Can I extend my stay?
Once only, by amendment, and without exceeding 10 months in total. The supporting document must cover the new period.
Can I leave before the end?
Yes, at any time, with one month’s notice.
Is a security deposit required?
No, the law prohibits it for a mobility lease. A Visale guarantee remains possible if you wish.
When must I provide the supporting document?
With your lease request, before signing. It must be valid on the lease start date.
Can my supporting document be in another language?
No. Supporting documents must be provided in French.
What language is the lease in?
The lease is drawn up in French and in English. Both versions have equal legal value.
What are my documents used for?
Only to check your eligibility and draw up the lease. They go through the secure signing platform.
