The neighbourhood
A studio by the Vallon des Auffes, in Endoume
Marseille 7th arrondissement, between the Corniche Kennedy and the little fishing harbour. What is around the studio, on foot and by bus, for a stay of 1 to 10 months.
Endoume and the Vallon des Auffes
Endoume is a neighbourhood on Marseille’s western seafront, in the 7th arrondissement, between the Pharo, the Catalans beach and Malmousque. Cabanons, bastides and apartment buildings sit side by side along the Corniche Kennedy.
The Vallon des Auffes is its best-known corner: a tiny fishing harbour with about fifty fishermen’s houses on either side of the bridge, restaurants, small traditional boats and a natural swimming pool. It is one of the last places in Marseille to keep such a Provençal charm.

Run, swim, walk
The Corniche Kennedy is right there for running or walking by the sea. The Catalans beach is 500 m away. Around Endoume the coves are rocky rather than sandy, and the Vallon des Auffes natural pool is good for a swim.
Eat and drink
The Vallon des Auffes has well-known tables, such as Chez Fonfon and Chez Jeannot. For daily needs, the supermarket at the foot of the building sells good fresh fruit, with very friendly staff.
Atmosphere
Around the studio the neighbourhood is quiet. The life is around the Vallon harbour, especially in fine weather and in the evening.
Good to know
- Parking: a few spaces are available on the public road, but they are often taken. Bus 83, a bike or a scooter are easier day to day.
- An access ramp, handy for a shopping trolley, a bike or a scooter, leads to the building, and a lift serves the floors.
- Accessibility: the flat is not suitable for people with reduced mobility, as the building entrance has steps.
